Specializing in full-service landscape design, landscape installation, and helping customers who enjoy doing the landscaping themselves with creative ideas, we continue to build on our business that first opened in 1999. Terry and Pat Hastreiter, along with children Ben and Angie, all work together to operate this family-owned business.
Our expanded growing operations on 35 acres is located at the corner of Coddington and Burnham in Southwest Lincoln. We are growing our own trees, shrubs and perennials in that area of town and taking appointments for landscape design & construction.
Terry Hastreiter
Owner, Retired
With over 50 years in the nursery industry, Terry has loved running NE Nursery & Color Gardens with his family best. Terry’s role in the company is focused around growing the best quality plants, shrubs & trees our clients can find. Outside of the business, Terry loves to fish, hunt and play with his grandchildren.
Pat Hastreiter
Owner, Retired
Pat and Terry have been married over 40 years, so you can imagine the experience she has, working hand-in-hand with Terry over the years. Pat’s role in the company is customer relations and accounting. Pat loves gardening, reading, and as with Terry, she can’t get enough of her grandchildren. She is also enjoying travelling to watch the grandkids & their sports
Ben Hastreiter
President
Ben has been in the industry for over 30 years, working in landscape, retail, as well as commercial and residential bidding. He has taken on the role of President, as he now oversees the company while maintaining sales. Ben has a beautiful wife, Charity, twin boys, a girl and one more boy to make 6! Ben loves to golf with his friends, update his landscape, and spend time with his family.
Angie Vandersnick
Administration
Angie thrives on bringing a balance of horticultural knowledge, operational structure, and people-first leadership to every project. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Jeff, their two wonderful children, and of course their golden retriever, Archie.
Tim Vrooman
Landscape Designer
Tim is a Nebraska Certified Nursery and Landscape Professional who enjoys helping people create beautiful landscapes that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. He and his wife, Alyson, have 5 children that bring him joy to be around. His hobbies include sports, gardening, and anything with nature.
